Chitaral Jain Monument

1000 years ago, this hill lock, known as Thirucharanathupalli, was an abode for digambar jain monks. It is widely believed that the temple was built by King Vikramaditya.

Thirucharanathu bhataarIMG_20151129_171808343iyar – Pathmavathi is the goddess here. Besides, there are rock-cut sculptures of Thirthankaras. Lord Parshwanatha and Lord Mahavira idols are also carved in the temple.

Chitaral Malai is located aboIMG_20151129_172452630ut 7 km from Marthandam and 55 km from Kanyakumari.  Marthandam is on NH-47. Buses are plying frequently between Nagercoil and Trivandrum on NH-47. The nearest airport is Trivandrum which is 50 km far.
